“Third, and most important, the Occupy movement lacks a coherent guiding philosophy.”
That is because they are basically redistributive Socialists and it is tough to articulate such philosophy for even deluded young Americans. This philosophy takes years and years of practice, classes and higher learning because it intrinsically and fundamentally doesn’t make sense to most human beings. This is especially true for most Americans as the, however submerged, concepts of personal responsibility and belief in “free markets” always seems to somehow break through. The narrative of the Progressive of “taking” from those that have to give to those that need makes little sense to most human beings on the planet. Generally it is called theft. It is on its’ face unconstitutional as it violates the rights of the minority, the individual and natural law.
Often, if left to their own devices, Americans will give in generous amounts, at least those “that have” will, as has been widely and magnanimously demonstrated all across this great country in many forms.
Everyone is ticked off because quite simply everyone is losing. The country is losing. If you are luckily “wired” into the political class today, then maybe not so much. There might even be a few “opportunities” in the mix if you fit in, use the right words and contribute. They still, still are spending money. The government is still spending a trillion dollars over “THE BUDGET”. Where the heck is all this money going? I guess we wait on the “super committee” to swoop down, cape streaming to fill us in and save us all.
Our government continues to print and spend, print and spend. Who in DC even has a clue as to what the FED is doing or why. Oh well they never answer the really good questions anyway. People are somewhat quizzical as to what we are doing in Africa, yet again, just a little further south? We’d hope someone would have asked but The Prez bussed off to the Carolinas to be “not welcomed” accompanied by the further indignity of having his communications equipment hijacked in the process. See even true Progressives get hit once the “redistribute the wealth” program starts kicking into higher gear. Then and only then, they admit they are sorry and it was all wrong.
Only after the weight of the tyranny demands reaction, do we get the apology. Usually the statement is accompanied with the false promise to “do better” the next time. Unfortunately this time, there is no next time.
